Panasonic Air Conditioning Systems

Panasonic Air Conditioning | Simply AC LondonPanasonic provides some of the widest choices of air conditioning systems for the home. The products are based on long years of research and innovation with the sole aim of providing healthy air for their numerous customers. Air conditioners from Panasonic are the only ones that purify the air we breathe in using Eion Patrol Sensor technology. E-ion from Panasonic is a purifying system that is particularly manufactured for giving healthy air. It is very efficient with its two-in-one independent air conditioner and air purifier.

The highly commended E-ion air purifying system of Panasonic is about ten percent more resourceful when compared to before. The active e-ions are released to trap dust particles and gather them into a larger filter so as to prevent them from circulating with the air in the room. With the patrol sensor, the air gets monitored when the air conditioning system is in operation and even when it is not.

Whenever any dirt or dust is discovered, the air purifying features of the system start working immediately to clear and clean the air circulating in the room. There is a device that comes with it that is released when the air conditioning is working to trap and neutralise the mould and bacteria in the air. The sensors usually gauge the level of dirt in the air and when the dirt in the air gets to a particular level, the sensor shows that the air is dirty. The sensor is continually monitoring the dirt in the air irrespective of whether the air conditioning system is in operation or not.

Active e-ions charge the dust particles in the air negatively for successful collection and eliminate harmful bacteria, mould and viruses to the tune of about ninety nine percent. There is also a mega e-ion filter which is actually seven times larger and better than its predecessors. It is efficient in capturing dirt and dust particles from the air. The various improvements of the air conditioning systems of Panasonic have transformed the world of air conditioners today.

The mild dry setting allows fine control of the air conditioning system from Panasonic to avert a quick reduction in the humidity of the room, while preserving the normal temperature that has been preset. It maintains a relative humidity of about ten percent more than its cooling operation counterparts. Naturally, whenever the mild dry cooling mode of the air conditioning system is on, the flaps channel the air flow downward so as to prevent drying room occupants’ skin due to a direct effect of the breeze.

“Our open plan office houses around 100 people. Air distribution and draft was an issue for some of them prior to fitting air deflectors. Since the fitting we’ve not had a single complaint!”

How we got here

Air conditioning is known to have been applied in Ancient Rome: aqueduct water was passed through walls of houses to cool them. In medieval Persia similar techniques involving the use of cisterns and wind towers were used in the hot season to cool buildings.

Modern air conditioning emerged after advances in 19th Century chemistry, and it was Willis Haviland Carrier who invented and first used a large-scale electrical air conditioning system in 1902.

Air Conditioner Definition

An appliance, unit, system, or machine designed to stabilise the temperature and humidity of air within an area (used for both heating as well as cooling). A refrigeration cycle is the most common method of achieving this although sometimes evaporative coolers are used for comfort cooling inside buildings and vehicles.

Air Conditioning for Heating

Air conditioning heating works the same way as refrigerators do. An air conditioning heating unit uses chemical substances that can easily be converted from gas into liquid and vice versa. The chemical is used to transport heat from the air in the house to the air outside the home. Generally, the system comes with three basic parts namely, condenser, compressor and an evaporator.

The condenser and the compressor are normally situated on the external air portion of the air conditioning system. And the evaporator is situated indoor, sometimes; it can be part of the furnace. This is the part that heats up the house. Generally, the fluid gets to the compressor as a low pressure, cool gas and moves into the condenser. By the time the fluid departs from the condenser, the temperature of the fluid is cooler and by that time, it would have changed from gas into liquid under a very high temperature. This liquid moves to the evaporator via a thin and narrow hole.

When the liquid gets to the other side, the pressure usually drops and by this time, it starts evaporating into gas. What happens during this period is that the heat is extracted from the air surrounding it. The heat is very useful as it separates the molecules in the fluid from the liquid to gas. There is a fan that is connected to the evaporator which moves the air in the house across the fins of the evaporator.

Cool air is usually heavier than hot air and as such, the hot air rises on top of the room. The hot air then cools the gas that is in the evaporator and as the heat gets off the air the air becomes cool. The reversal is the case when there is need to heat up the room. The process goes on until the required temperature of the room is achieved. And by the time the temperature gets to the right degree (there is a thermostat that senses the degree of the temperature); the air conditioning turns off automatically.

Air conditioning heating comes with a valve that allows it to switch between heater and air conditioner. Whenever the valve gets switched off, the heat pump operates as an air conditioner and when it is switched on, it operates as a heater. The dual functions of the air conditioning heating make it ideal for use in every season all through the year. Very useful – an all in one unit to heat in the winter and cool in the summer, saving you money and acting more efficiently as far as the environment is concerned.

Sweat: The Body’s Air Conditioning

There have been some hot days this August just gone, and as usual, people are bound to have perspired/sweated. Whatever you try to do, the bottom line is that people get damp during this period. Though this shouldn’t have any negative implication. As a matter of fact, if you think about it, sweat is meant to cool the body. This is exactly what Dermatologist, David Pariser from Norfolk says concerning sweat. According to him, sweat works exactly the same way that air conditioning does. That is, it cools the host as the moisture disperses from the body.

Apart from this cooling function, he says sweat also performs other minor functions like the balancing of the electrolytes of the body. Body electrolytes refer to minerals which assist the body in sustaining its functions. However, the huge preponderance of the reason for sweating is known as thermal regulation. It is also important to point out the fact that it is normal for everybody to sweat. But the fact still remains that some people sweat more than others. People suffering from anhidrosis, which is a dangerous health condition caused by the damage of nerves, and some people on certain medication, may not sweat.

Another fact mentioned by Pariser is that the male gender usually sweats four times more than female counterpart. And in addition to this fact, people with bigger stature sweat more than people with small stature. It is also important to note sweating does not flush nutrients from the body, unlike the case of dehydration. Sweat is also odourless. Odour occurring when you sweat is caused when oils or sweat produced (more so in the groin or armpits) are broken down by bacteria on the skin. It is not strange to discover sweat stains on clothes and if care is not taken, the stain may become permanent.

There are some tips you can follow to help you prevent this. Usually, sweat stains are due to the combination of the salt in sweat and chemicals in the antiperspirants you use. It is advisable to allow the antiperspirant to dry up on your body before dressing. It is also best to clean your garments immediately after you remove them. This is because it is easier to get the sweat away before it dries off on the cloth. When washing sweat off light fabric, use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and water. Soak for thirty minutes and wash as usual. And on dark fabric, use white vinegar and water and soak for thirty minutes before washing.

Natural Energy for Air Conditioning Systems

For many years, the issue of energy consumption has become a source of concern. There is a continual search on how to connect the sun with the aim of making rooms cool. This may actually sound as opposite to the perception of people who think the uncomfortable heat coming through windows and roofs during the summer period makes life unbearable and as such cannot have anything comfortable to offer. But if you consider the fantastic energy of the sun, you will discover that there is an ideal proportion in the notion of solar cooling. The tremendous power of the sun can be utilised when it is needed.

With solar cooling we are referring to the various proposals for greener air conditioning systems. This allows for better utilisation of the great forces of nature. Air conditioning systems have changed the living comfort of the developed world during the summer period, although, at a very high cost of energy. The air conditioning system was first invented by Willis Haviland Carrier in the early part of the 19th century. The early air conditioners functioned through the use of refrigerant-cooled coils.

The story has not changed much in the current generation when you look at conventional air conditioners. The air conditioners today place great strains on electricity especially during the summer period. As well as in summertime, there is also a high degree of energy required during the winter to keep the home warm.

In America over eighty percent of homes have air conditioners, which places a high demand on the power in the nation during the summer period. Many of the power companies have to go all out to ensure that enough energy is generated to provide power during the hottest afternoons. And here in Europe, the demand for air conditioning systems is growing by the day.

Many companies have tried to introduce solar photovoltaic panels to their numerous air conditioning packages. For instance, there is Sun Source solar assisted cooling and heating produced by Lennox and there is also the solar hybrid cooling system produced by LG Electronics. It has however been discovered that there are greater opportunities for cooling with little energy as these photovoltaic panels only account for a tiny amount of the energy usage of the systems.

Upgrading an Air Conditioner at Low Cost

Upgrade air con | Air Conditioning LondonNow is a crucial time to start considering the nature of your air conditioning unit. Knowing well that this period, mid-summer, is the hottest and the need for cool air is more during this period. You have to consider the overall performance of your air conditioner in relation to the cost of maintenance. The summer period is usually the time when homeowners get the highest energy bills. But this may not be the case with you if you are wise enough to upgrade your air conditioning system to a modern unit which is more energy efficient.

When you upgrade, your bills will definitely reduce and the value of your home will be increased. There are basically different types of air conditioner units, but the most popular among them are room air conditioners and central air units. The central air units offer coolness in the entire home via a duct system. The room air conditioner on the other hand cools a particular room. You have to decide the type that will be best for your home in terms of output and cost implication. For instance, it will be very impractical to have a window mounted type of air conditioner in every room of a larger home. Having these would not only be too expensive but will also affect the aesthetic of your house.

The perfect air conditioning system for bigger homes is the central air conditioner. It is essential to note that in order not to spend over board, it is better to get a professional to fix your central air conditioning system. A major advantage of the central air system is the cost reduction in terms of tax incentives you get and the cost of installation as a business. The room size air conditioners are also great for people with small homes or people with small budget. The best type of single room air conditioner is one operating within four thousand to ten thousand BTUs. It is also a good choice for people who need to extend their homes but do not want to incur additional cost of attaching the additional rooms to the existing system.

When a smaller unit of air conditioner is properly installed and configured, it will compensate for the variation. There are some things you must look out for when purchasing your room-based unit. You must first consider the size of the room where you want to have the AC installed. You need a professional installer to help you calculate the perfect BTU and the energy efficiency ratio that will be just right for your room. Note that buying an extra powerful air con unit will not be perfect for your room as it can leave your room clammy and very cold. Ensure you work with a professional to give your home the optimum coolness.

Seasonal Energy Efficiency of Daikin Heat Pumps

Daikin heat pump | Air Conditioning LondonIt will soon be necessary to display regular efficiency on the tags of energy according to the draft of EU legislation. This will open up the possibility of being able to rate accurately, the real life performance of your equipment over a year. However, you need to discover what exactly the ratings of seasonal energy efficiency mean to you personally. Daikin can be said to be ahead of the seasonal energy efficiency standards as of today.

The company’s new Sky Air Seasonal Inverter model optimises the inverter control for maximum energy performance all through the year and delivers extreme seasonal efficiency every year. Daikin offer various product for the home from which you can pick to make your home comfortable throughout the year. Some of their products include domestic hot water, heating and cooling, air purifiers, Nexura, Ventilation, Ururu Sarara and Daikin Emura. All these products are meant to make your home habitable and comfortable throughout all the seasons in the year.

Heat pumps are all-in-one cooling and heating equipment for the home. They are extremely energy efficient and one of the ways they achieve this is by extracting thermal energy from the ambient air, water, or ground and transporting it into your home. It is essential to mention that Daikin has been in the business of providing heat pumps to the general public for over fifty years. These long years of professionalism have been invested into bringing the new model heat pumps which are extremely efficient in terms of energy.

The efficiency of a heat pump is usually measured in coefficient of performance and the heat pumps from Daikin have up to five coefficient of performance. What this implies is that for a unit of consumed energy a Daikin heat pump gives five units of cooled or heated energy. You may wonder about the efficiency of Daikin heat pumps. The fact is that the Daikin heat pump system, Altherma, uses about two third of its heating energy from the ambient air instead of burning carbon fossil fuels. As a result, only one third of the amount of energy is needed to operate the compressor and to enhance the temperature of the improved heat to the required level. Heat pumps from Daikin help to lessen carbon emissions by over fifty percent when compared to heating systems based on fossil fuel.

Flexible Fujitsu Products

Fujitsu Slender Fit Cassette | Air Conditioning LondonWith the high rate at which air conditioning systems are becoming popular, manufacturers are coming up with innovative controls and various operational attributes to meet up with customers’ expectations. For instance, Fujitsu has supplemented its air conditioning products with a good number of different features. These added features are in response to the needs of the customers all over the world. There is a new seven-day timer that offers the user the opportunity to pre-program different temperature levels, time programs, fan speeds, and air flow direction for every day of the week. This offers the user an outstanding standard of individual control.

Another innovative development is the Slender Fit which is an unrivalled mechanism in the industry. It enables the air conditioner service provider to fix the cassette units into extraordinarily slim ceiling voids with the aim of providing the user more choice. There are different Fujitsu ranges of bigger ceiling cassettes that you can find the slender fit mechanism. These are rated at about 14.1Kw to 7.1Kw. You can find these with or without heat pumps. The various specifications of the dimensions of the Fujitsu product give them an edge over competing air conditioning systems.

There is the 235mmh by 840mmw by 840mmd which is specifically meant for the 7.1kw types. The slender fit mechanism gives room for adjustment of the location of the cassette body relative to the grille thereby reducing the altitude of the AC unit by thirty five millimeters. One other feature of the new bigger cassettes is the functional noise level of the air conditioning unit that has been reduced drastically by 16%. The end result of this is that the unit has become one of the quietest AC units available on the market. This has been made possible by the introduction of the modern caliber turbo molded fan which is larger than many of the others.

The air conditioning unit also comes with a four way air allotment system which has been enhanced through the integration of better air flaps to broaden the airflow throughout the room. Just like the old cassette range, the new models gain greatly from the multi-directional airflow which allows the air to be dispersed from about four aspects of the unit. There are other features which include auto change over on the heat pump models. This mechanically transforms from the heating mode to the cooling mode and vice-versa with the aim of maintaining a set point. There is also the auto airflow adjustment which repeatedly modifies the air flow to equal the room conditions. There are other products from the company that are worth looking at.

London’s Weather in August

The month of August is essentially the peak of summertime in London. Although in most cases, the UK weather is bearable, the reality is that the weather becomes very hot in London when you compare it to the countryside. This is basically as a result of the steel and concrete that are evident in the city. With the degree of heat, you may actually be forced to bathing in the unique Serpentine Lido located in Hyde Park! Apart from taking a bathe, you can also enjoy the cool effect of shady areas in any of the picturesque London parks.

A very exciting part of these parks is the enticing way deckchairs are often seen reclining on the beautiful lawn. Of course, you will be missing a lot on a visit to London if you are tempted to sit back and rest for too long under the shade. In London, you can be sure of the fact that there is no dull moment with great things to see and do, and of course most public buildings are well air conditioned.

Sometimes, the temperature of London in August gets to as high as 30°C or more. But normally, the weather is in the enjoyable mid 20’s during the month. It is however important to note that the weather is highly unpredictable and the amount of sunshine that can be enjoyed during the summer period in London does vary. The month can be a reasonably wet month having an average of eleven days of rainy period.

In August, there are various events that come up such as the thrilling Notting Hill Carnival which is the biggest street festival in the whole of Europe. There is also the Great British Beer Festival which takes place at Earls Court at the beginning of the month. There are also some other entertainment activities such as the BBC proms, which take place at the Royal Albert Hall, and the state rooms of Buckingham Palace also open to the general public in August.

And apart from this, there are also the international cricket test games during the month. When you consider going on the waters, there are space boats that have their own music festivals to entertain their customers. Some things to pack when going to London in August include comfortable t-shirts, and shorts. A light waterproof jacket will also be necessary for the showers that are bound to come during the month. Sun block, shady hat, and sunglasses will also not be a bad idea, but don’t worry too much about getting hot and stuffy indoors, with most public domains being well air conditioned.
