There is always a discussion about the preference for inverter or non-inverter technology and there are advantages for each type. In the next few paragraphs, we will give a brief overview of how inverter technology works and the advantages it brings.

On starting up any mechanical device, there is usually a power surge or spike. With powerful devices, these power surges can result in higher running costs because of the amount of power required to start up the device. It can also impact on the surrounding electrical devices and for example may make lights dim or flicker for a few seconds while it starts. This could be critical in a business where other machinery or IT equipment is operating

An inverter is similar to a car accelerator. Instead of a massive power surge, an inverter powers up slowly and smoothly. The startup process is therefore more environment friendly and more economical. Some researchers suggest savings of up to 30% may be made with inverter technology which is of great interest to any business owner.

Inverter systems are usually quiet running and have less fluctuations in temperature giving an even atmosphere at all times. While the initial cost of inverter systems is initially more expensive than a non-inverter system, the payback period is relatively short and thereafter the energy savings make for cheaper running costs.
